Volunteer Opportunities At NYRR EventsSaturday, June 7th, 2008 6:00 AM On this date the NYRR needs your help. 37 Years of Celebrating Women! The original women-only road race, the "Mini" continues the tradition of celebrating all that is good about women's running. A professional field of the world's fleetest female will lead thousands of women on a 10K course through Central Park.The NYRR needs plenty of volunteers. Come out and help marshall the course or other necessary assignments. This year in order for our club to obtain guaranteed marathon entries our members must have volunteered for NYRR events. Those that have already volunteered may receive first consideration. Volunteering for any event does not guarantee entry into the marathon. Don't wait until your lottery rejection notice arrives before you deside to volunteer.NYRR's annual calendar features more than 100 running/walking events throughout New York City, including road races ranging from 1 to 50 miles, cross country races, indoor track meets, and kids races. They need and greatly appreciate the assistance of volunteers at all of their events. They now offer a new online Volunteer Sign-Up System for their weekly races! Simply click the link to the right and you will be directed to a sign-in page, which will take you to a list of races. From there you can expand a race to see the list of available volunteer jobs. Certain assignments may fill up quickly, so sign up early. NYRR members who are volunteering in order to gain guaranteed entry into the ING New York City Marathon must enter their member number when they sign up to volunteer. |
