Katie's RunSunday, June 27th, 2010 9:30 AM The Inaugural Katie's Run will be a 5K Run that will celebrate the life of Katie McBride while raising important funds for the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.Katie McBride, daughter of Retired NYPD Detective Mike McBride, was a vibrant young girl when she was stricken with Leukemia at eleven years old. Althouh Katie lost her battle at a much too young age, her spirt will live on through this event run in her honor. In addition to a competitive 5K Run, the event will feature a 2 Mile Walk, a Dri-Fit T-Shirt, a free barbeque for all participants, and the Ronald McDonald House Children's Fun Run. If you can't make it to the event please consider registering for the 2 Mile Walk which will serve as a donation if you don't attend. |
