Hudson Valley 15KSunday, April 11th, 2010 8:30 AM The Hudson Valley 15K is now in its second year. The inaugural year brought runners from several different parts of the state to the Hudson Valley, and the races's reputation as perhaps the most challenging 15K in New York will certainly contribute to its future popularity and success. The HV15K is the brainchild of several members of the 7:19 Club of Blooming Grove, who frequently ran the roads around Tomahawk Lake and Hamptonburgh, and realized that there was a 9.3-mile route that would challenge even the most seasoned runners in the area. Make no mistake, and listen to no one who says otherwise - this course has hills! A daunting one at mile 2, and at least two other "testers" further along the route. But the majority of the course is extremely picturesque, enough so that one might momentarily forget about the hills every once in a while. But when you finish this race, you'll be satisfied at having run well in the Hudson Valley's only 15K race! |
